Thanksgiving Break

It's crazy, my apartment complex is nearly empty. What's funny is that I like it. With the usual students that go to WVU, it's nice over a break when everything quiets down. I had to grade assignments this past Saturday and man, they just keep getting worse. I do think it's partly due to the fact that we're on break now, so I'm pretty sure there were a lot of students that just got it done to be done with it. Anyway, it's break now and thinking about students is probably last on my list. I do have tons of my own work to get done, which is beginning to be a little overwhelming, but I'll work on everything day by day. I also have a TON of couponing to do, I've gotten really backed up doing that stuff. Gotta get to work!

Friday night and the living is..plain, heh

It's a Friday night and what am I up to? Grading and watching Eclipse, oh yeah! I actually get to watch the end because I just finished my grading. It amazes me that students think a teacher won't catch cheating. I'll give it to the students who change their answers enough that because I'm tired or whatever I don't catch it, but when you copy answers verbatim? Come on, even a tired teacher is bound to catch that.

And the Stress Begins..

Let me first say, that just by starting to write this post, I'm not doing the work I need to get done. BUT, people need breaks right? I am currently on the path or mission of writing up cheat sheets for upcoming tests. The first is an exam in actuarial sciences, though the class itself is not entirely challenging, only with respect to trying to pay attention during lecture. The professor that teaches it really just wants to do his research and you can tell  he's no into the teaching stuff. The other exam, which is rapidly approaching, is the second part of a comprehensive exam for the stat program. We are allowed 6 cheat sheets, and that's what I've been working on this morning. It's a shock to me that we are allowed so many cheat sheets in general in this program, but it has come in handy, there are several formulas and theories that are hard to remember by memorization alone. On top of my work is the work I have being a TA as well, which includes grading homew
